The Liberty Centre – Children & Young People’s (11yrs -25 yrs) Independent Domestic Violence Advisor Services – Children and Young Person (IDVA-CYP)

The role of the children and young people’s independent domestic abuse worker is to provide support to
children and young people age 11-25 years old who are considered as high risk regarding their safety.

Following the risk assessment support is offered for 12 weeks consisting of weekly 1-1 sessions delivered in
the home environment, schools or at The Liberty Centre’s head office.
Each session is tailored to the individuals support needs and consists of:
 Risk Assessment & Safety Planning – Promoting your rights to feel safe.
 Healthy & Unhealthy Relationship Awareness
 Domestic Abuse Awareness
 Group work
 Improve Self-esteem and Confidence and Emotional Support.
 Support with housing, debt and legal appointments arranged.
 Attending Court, Child In Need and Child Protection meetings.
 Act as an advocate to ensure your views are heard
 Refer and Attend MARAC (Multi-Agency Risk Assessment Conference) meetings on your behalf.
 Highlight support networks, school, family and community activity
