On the weekend of June 10th & 11th the residents of Hesketh Bank welcomed the Charity Transport Rally as it celebrated it’s 17th year. During that time the Rally has raised over £30,000 for local charities and this this year the proceeds went to SUAG (Spinal Unit Action Group) for long term patients in Southport Promenade Spinal Hospital.
On the Saturday evening there was live entertainment by the local Ukulele Band, The Throselpickers and the attendees enjoyed a hot pot supper, despite the typical British rain!
On the Sunday the weather brightened up and sunshine brought out the people, with a good turn out. In total the event raised £1,900 for SUAG. This charity provides a home for people with spinal injuries, which enables them to leave the hospital wards and live their lives as well as they possibly can. The charity totally relies on donations and fundraising events, so every penny counts.
Thank you to all involved in the rally, including everyone who attended.
