Hesketh Bank Community Centre will be hosting an evening of Jazz on Saturday 22nd June, with the event that is aptly titled
“Jazz in the Village”.
As part of their 2019 UK tour, Ian Miller and Dominic Spencer from Scotland will come to Hesketh Bank to play their ‘accessible, melodic jazz’. Ian, who plays saxophone, and Dominic, who plays the piano, have been together for a number of years performing Ian’s improvisations on jazz standards and original compositions. They have had enormous success over many years during the Edinburgh Fringe Festival with their very successful show “Jazz at Lunchtime”. Thousands of people have seen them perform, with many sell-out shows, and some have travelled from all over the world returning year after year.
Their rural tours under their “Jazz in the Village” series, often brings jazz for the first time to remote communities, performing in intimate settings to appreciative audiences. Steve Kirby, Chair of Hesketh Bank Community Centre, said, “We are thrilled to be able to host this event, which is a great honour for our village.”
Tickets are £8 and you can bring your own refreshments. For more information or to book contact Hesketh Bank Community Centre on firstname.lastname@example.org or 07784 942127.
