Mawdesley sees weekend of double festival fun this July

The West Lancashire village of Mawdesley will be transformed on the 21st-22nd July 2018, with lots of new, but silent villagers adorning the streets and gardens, in their annual Scarecrow Festival.

Plan your tour of the village, making sure you don’t miss these crafty creations, by purchasing your very own scarecrow map available from The Red Lion Pub, Cedar Farm shops and Mawdesley Post Office before the event. Or just turn up, explore the village and see what new friends you can find.

There will be free parking at Cedar Farm Galleries and shops, where you can pop in and see the wonderful craftsmanship of local makers, purchase some goodies and have a drink and cake before or after your scarecrow adventure. The popular Cedar Farm Market will also bustling on Saturday 21st, brining live music, refreshments and other items to purchase to the event.

You will be able to vote for your favourite Scarecrow with the creator winning a very special prize.  And if that’s not enough excitement, The Red Lion’s Beer Festival is also in full flow on the very same weekend, so a great place to stop off and try some of their refreshments on your tour around this pretty, West Lancashire village.
