Come and visit the new Macmillan information centre (tel 01695 656533)
On Friday 29 September 2017, between 2pm and 4pm, Macmillan are opening the doors of their new information centre, which is based on the ground floor of The Concourse in Skelmersdale.
This will be a great opportunity for residents to come and look around the new information centre and talk to expert Macmillan team.
The West Lancashire Macmillan Information and Support Centre will have a team of experts and trained volunteers on hand to support people affected by cancer and answer any questions they may have.
A diagnosis of cancer can leave patients and those closest to them facing many challenges and it is hoped that the support on offer will help ease the practical, emotional and financial burden as well as concerns around the future. The centre will also play a key role in the prevention and early detection of cancer by raising awareness of the signs and symptoms and offering healthy lifestyle advice.
The centre is being run in conjunction with Citizens Advice Lancashire West, who will be supporting residents through their Digital Help Centre.
Support for the West Lancashire Macmillan Information and Support Centre was provided by the CCG, West Lancashire CVS and Southport and Ormskirk Hospital NHS Trust.
This open day will also coincide with this year’s Macmillan World’s Biggest Coffee Morning, which takes place annually and raises vital funds for Macmillan.
